Environment protection

Development of environmentally friendly business is a priority of AB “Geonafta”:
 
• we invest into environment protection and environmentally friendly hydrocarbon production;
• we invest into employment of drilling technologies that have no damage to the environment;
• we contribute to the reduction of Greenhouse Gases emissions: the associated gas is utilized to produce electric power and heat on the production facilities, other possible applications for produced gases are considered.
 
Scientific calculations indicate that hydrocarbon production has only 0.3 percent impact on the climate change in Lithuania. The monitoring of the environmental components – surface and ground water, air and soil – has been carried out on production facilities since 2000. The acquired results are available in annual reports and show that upstream operations within the production sites and their sanitary protective zones have no substantial impact on the components of the environment.
